PINK - No Means No
Pink is a hindi film directed by Anirudh Roy Chowdhury is about court drama about one crime incidence happened in outskirts of Delhi. It’s a story about three girls - Minal Arora (Taapsee Pannu), Falak Ali (Kirti Kulhari) and Andrea (Andrea Tariang) who are staying together as tenants in posh Delhi locality and are working professional in their respective fields. One night, after a rock concert these three girls accepts a dinner invitation to one resort from one of Minal’s old friend Vishwa and his friend Rajveer (Angad Bedi) who is relative to a powerful politician. Rajeev and his friends gets drunk and try to molest the three girls and in retaliation Minal smashes the bottle on Rajveer’s heads and injures his eyes and runaway from that place.
The movie is about after event how the powerful intimidate those three girls and instead of police acting against boys they arrest Minal and thus trial begins in the court to convict her. Living alone in Delhi which is anyways hostile to women in the eyes of society, they come across a neighbor Deepak Sehgall (Amitabh Bachchan) who is retired lawyer suffering from bipolar disorder. Deepak decides to help the three girls and movie plays around in court sequence where it tells how as a society women gets branded as well as characterized by their normal behavior.
The movie has strong social message and may be the best movie to cover women empowerment and feminism. This movie completely belongs to Amitabh Bachchan for his flawless performance which will keep you engaged through out the movie. Even the young girls Taapsee and Kirti done superb performance with lots of maturity. The main attraction of movie is its story, screenplay and flawless direction which is perfect from all perspective.
I will rate this as a best hindi film of year so far and one of the best movie on feminism. No Indian must miss this as it shows real mindset of our feudal social system.
