Agneepath - Death Of The Cult

Well, Agneepath of 1990 was my most favorite movie of Amitabh Bachchan, so when I gone to watch the remake I just thought I will do not any comparison at all and will give this new Agneepath a fair chance. The story is same as original with few alteration in charactirsation such as: eliminating role of Mithun, Making Rishi Kapoor as one gangster instead of four godfathers in original and few here and there.

The screenplay writer & director - Karan Malhotra tried hard to be very different from original in terms of characterisation and according to me that was a failure of movie. He has enhanced the character of Kaancha as Sanjay Dutt and Rauf Lala as Rishi Kapoor to next level and while doing that he toned down the characters of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan. The movie thrown a larger than life challenge but Hrithik's character was looking like a very ordinary guy taking on big bad guys. His role will remind you about his role in Fiza & Mission Kashmir; In this movie he doesn't even has any heavy dialog or any action to convince the audience about his rage towards the revenge. He looked too weak and vulnerable. Besides that, movie was lengthy and the movie could have gone without the role of Priyanka Chopra.

It is disappointing coz, with such a great star cast this could have been a one big movie. The only best part of movie is fist 10-15 minute when they build up the story with Kid Vijay Dinanath and it never bumped up again.
However Sanjay Dutt & Rishi Kapoor was quite an excellent and Hrithik was wasted talent in the movie.
