Anks Movie Review - "The Descendants" - (Drama) - [ * * * ]
The Descendants is family drama directed by Alexander Payne is a story about Matt's (played by George Clooney) family in Hawaii whose wife is in coma and has two daughter. While his wife in coma Matt learns she was cheating on her and he is angry about it but he still tries to fulfill all her last wishes and gathering all family members to say her good bye. He also hunts down her lover and ask him to come and say good-bye to his wife. The movie tells the story meticulously of a family from inside and emotions that Matt goes through that his wife is going to die, discovered that she was cheating on him, dealing with his daughters and property decisions about his family land.
Well this movie was really hyped and celebrated in all film festival also front runner on most of the leading award. According to me, this is quite an average and ordinary movie; nothing of that sort as it projected as Oscar front runner. George Clooney is as usual superb but I believe he did much better performances in other movies. Quite an average watch.
