The Lady: A struggle of the Iron Orchid
The Lady is a French-English co-production directed by Luc Besson, starring Michelle Yeoh as Aung San Suu Kyi. The movie is about the struggle of Aung San Suu Kyi to make Burma a democratic country and her fight for freedom where she was captured by Burmese Junta for nearly 20 years. Its an extraordinary story of love between her deceased husband Michael Aris and a woman who sacrifices her personal happiness for her people. The movie takes you through life of Suu Kyi right from the time she returns to Burma to see her ailing mother and when she sees that what people of Burma going thorugh and finally decides to pursuade the authority for election. She forms first party in Burma called - National League For Democracy and fights election in isolation.
Michelle Yeoh did complete justice to the role as Aung San Suu Kyi; in all the frame she completely looked liked her and did commending acting. Its a much watch story for everyone who enjoys political, history, true story as a genre.
