Citylights: Flashy but monstrous
Citylight is remake of famous philippino movie "Metro Manila" directed by Hansal Mehta. It's a story about Deepak Singh (played by Rajkumar Rao) who lives in some small town of Rajasthan and couldn't sustain his livelihood because of debts. Just like other dreamers he comes to Mumbai to change is fate. The maximum city gulps Deepak and his family with it's selfishness and tells us no one to be believed and this is no city for poor. The movie is about Deepak's struggle in Mumbai and how his life is consumed but still he manages to give wealth for his family to leave the city.
The movie has it's own pace and intelligently made by extracting amazing performance from Raj Rumar Rao and Patralekha. Manav Kaul also did amazing performance who hires Deepak for his selfish motto.
Hansal Mehta's ditrection is superb as usual, go for it but yeah this is not masal sort of movie.
